Visit to the Isle of Man

In addition to the many different corners of the city to discover, Bristol is an excellent base from which to visit lots of places around the UK - very important if you are studying for several weeks and would like to explore as much as possible! Our city has excellent coach and train links with the rest of the country, and with an international airport just 20mins from the city centre you can also travel further afield - as our students Anna, Sophie, Loane and Andrea recently discovered! They flew directly from Bristol airport to the picturesque Isle of Man for a few days in the autumn sunshine. They sent us some beautiful photos and told us all about their trip:

"Two months ago, we decided to organise a last-minute trip to the Isle of Man, which was an exciting experience of a lifetime. We travelled with the flight company EasyJet for a very cheap price and we found a cosy apartment on Airbnb in Douglas, which is the main city.

These four days were very intense, we visited almost all the Island. During our staying, we travelled by bus and the buses’ services were well-organised and allowed us to explore all the important places. We walked a lot in the nature and the landscapes are breathtaking. It seems to be New Zeeland. We really enjoyed the time there, the residents are really friendly and gave us a lot of information about the Isle of Man.

We really recommend to other students to experience this trip. It’s easy to organise a trip there because Bristol is really close to Isle of Man. If you are an adrenaline junkie person, we suggest you to have a map in your bag and go around the Island to discover all types of animals, castles and nature. One of the advantages of this Island is that it’s a really small country so in four days you have the opportunity to see a lot of places."
