CELTA taster

Have you ever considered teaching English as a foreign language?

Perhaps you have thought about spending some time living in another country and culture and earning your living by enabling others to speak English. 

We have a two-day CELTA Taster course for those who wish to experience what it is like to teach EFL.

This course will give you insight into what to expect if you decide to enrol on a full-time CELTA course. 

Also, participation in this course entitles you to a £50 discount off the cost of the full-time course if you enrol on a full-time course at International House Bristol within 3 months of the CELTA Taster.

    Celta Taster booking form

  • Our two-day course is designed to maximise the time you spend in the classroom so you can really see what is involved in EFL. It is run over a Thursday and Friday, 8.45 to 5.00 approximately. 

    You spend two mornings observing classes taught by qualified teachers while undertaking some directed observation tasks. 

    On the first afternoon, you have a language & teaching task to complete which is then assessed by one of our teacher trainers. 

    On the second afternoon, you participate in Conversation Club where you get to interact directly with students. After Conversation Club, you spend time with a teacher trainer who will go through your observation sheets and answer any questions you may have.

    This course will give you insight into what to expect if you decide to enrol on a full-time CELTA course.
