Why train with us?
Learn the latest methods & techniques in TEFL.
International House Bristol has 20 years' experience in training teachers to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL). During that time, we have produced hundreds of qualified teachers and helped hundreds of others to upgrade their existing skills. We take great pride in our training methods and our trainees have gone on to find jobs worldwide.
We are so confident in our methods that every year we plan to use as many of our own certificate trainees as possible on our short-term courses. This gives newly qualified teachers their vital first step on the teacher ladder. Our full-time staff is largely composed of teachers who have trained with us either at certificate or diploma level. We are dedicated to teacher training and run an ongoing programme of teacher development for all teaching staff, so we are always up to date with the latest methods and techniques.
We recognise that non-native speakers of English who are qualified teachers in their own countries have a great deal to contribute to our training sessions, which is why the classes on the Foreign Teachers of English course are designed to maximise the sharing of best practise. Participants go away not just with the most up-to-date methods and theories but also a whole range of new ideas from other non-native teachers of English.
At IHB, you will experience what life is like as a TEFL teacher in a supportive and lively atmosphere, and go away with all the skills you need to become a great teacher and equipped to meet the challenges of the modern language classroom.
