"Mariana is from Belo Horizonte in South East Brazil. She recently moved to Bristol with her husband, and started taking online English lessons to improve her career opportunities; she’s a dentist, and would like to be able to practice in the UK.

Mariana has really her course so far – she especially likes that her classmates are from such a wide range of nations and cultures. She also appreciates the teachers’ method and professionalism.

Mariana is a wonderful addition to her class. She is an eager, focused and disciplined learner, as well as a warm and good-natured classmate, who works excellently in groups and is always willing to use her knowledge to help others – all qualities greatly appreciated by teachers and students alike."

"Gabriel is from Neiva in southern Colombia. He wants to be a doctor, and is studying English to improve his language skills before he starts at medical school in the autumn.

Like Mariana, Gabriel appreciates IH Bristol’s teachers and the atmosphere in class. But he also likes that the school uses official materials and coursebooks, which he says has helped bring structure to his studies.

Gabriel is inquisitive in class, a good worker and a friendly, supportive classmate. But the teachers chose him primarily for his extraordinary dedication to his studies; for several months now, he’s been getting up at 3am Colombian time to join his lessons!"
