That's a whole 'nother story

We use this expression to say that a problem or a situation is completely different to another problem or situation that we were talking about before. You are usually saying that the new problem is much more serious or difficult than the one that we talked about before.

Example 1

I’m really worried about my driving test next week.

Well you should be okay. You’re really good at riding a bicycle.

I know but driving a car is a whole ‘nother story. It’s much more complicated.

They’re going so well, I’m thinking of starting Japanese lessons as well.

But English is an easy language. Japanese is a whole ‘nother story!
