Noriko Konuma
Teacher of Japanese

Hello, Konnichiwa!

I am Noriko, a Japanese teacher, qualified by IIEL, the Institute of International Education in London. Before becoming a Japanese (as a foreign language) teacher, I worked for 20 years as a professional translator/interpreter (simultaneous) for Japanese companies mainly Sony and Honda in the UK. When I was working for Sony, I did a company-wide presentation on the cultural differences between Japan and UK (or the west). I’m always fascinated by culture and I’m also always very impressed by my students as to how much they know about Japanese culture! I love talking about Japanese culture and differences and/or similarities!

I love books and especially haiku and tanka, or poems in general. I write in English.

I look forward to seeing you in the class.

Best wishes, ja mata!

Noriko
