Busra Akgun Ezin
My name is Busra and I work as a Turkish Teacher at IH Bristol.
I was born and grew up in the capital of Turkey, Ankara and studied my bachelors degree in Turkish Language and Literature Teaching at Erciyes University. After working with primary and secondary school children for two years and meeting many international people, I decided to bring my teaching experience to a higher level. I participated in training programmes for Turkish language teachers in Turkey and received a certificate of teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language which was issued by Ankara University and Yunus Emre Institute.
It was always my dream to live in a multilingual and diverse place like the UK. I found a unique opportinity to receive an MA degree in Linguistics at University of Essex in 2016. Currently, I am doing a PhD in Language Education at Goldsmiths College, UoL. After visiting many cities around the UK, I settled in Bristol as I amazed by the beauty of this city and its vibrant community here.
As a teacher, I use multi-sensory and learner-centered approaches in my classroom since I believe that everyone learns differently through all their different senses. During my time in the UK, I have been working with people from different age group with different purposes to learn Turkish.
