How to register
You can register for an IELTS test at the Bristol test centre either online or in person. Please see below for details:
Please note you if you need your IELTS results for UKVI purposes (Eg Citizenship or Settlement) you should not book your test in Bristol as we are not a SELT centre
Before you apply online and to prevent your application being delayed, it is vital that you read the Important information for candidates.
To apply online, please follow the steps below:
Fill in your details online.
You must upload a copy of your ID document which must contain
- Your ID number
- Your date of birth
- Your signature
- Your photograph
- Your ID expiry date
If you experience difficulty uploading your document, please e-mail us at:firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a temporary document to upload.
You can apply with a valid:
- EU ID Card
- UK Residence Permit
- ARC card (You must contact us in advance to ask for permission if using this type of ID)
Make your payment online
The 2017 Test fee is £160
You must make your payment within 24 hours of making your online application. If you fail to complete your application within the 24-hour period, your application will be cancelled. If you pay the test fee but then do not send the required documents, your application will be cancelled and you will be charged an administrative fee of £30.
You can come in to apply in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm. An IELTS Administrator will be available to help you book your place and make your payment online. You should bring with you your valid passport or EU ID card and a credit or debit card to make your payment.
The IELTS office is based at International House Bristol, 2 Queens Avenue, BS8 1SE. There is no parking allowed at this site at any time.

All confirmation letters which includes all test day information, are sent by e-mail as a PDF attachement after receipt of your documentation and payment. This information will be sent to you normally within 2 working days of applying.
