We believe that safety and enjoyment are equally important when studying with International House Bristol. It is therefore one of our terms and conditions of booking that you have adequate travel insurance in place.

 

International House Bristol

is working in partnership with GuardME, to provide our students with a policy which has been specifically designed to meet your requirements whilst you are studying in the UK. This is for our international students on a return trip.

GuardMe enhanced international student travel insurance policy is designed to cater for the insurance needs of students studying English in the UK. The product provides cover including emergency medical assistance and medical costs, protection in the event of cancellation or curtailment, cover for loss, theft of or damage to baggage and personal money. The current cost of GuardME insurance is £6.65 per week.

Key features of GuardME insurance policy are:

  • Protection against cancellation or curtailment charges.
  • Payment of medical costs (if you have an accident or illness) which are not covered by the National Health Service.
  • Emergency Dental treatment.
  • Free Digital Doctor Telemedicine: an entirely free of charge 24/7 medical doctor telephonic and video support service provided in multiple languages to all insureds. Suitable for simple medical queries or long-term hospitalisation to keep students updated on medical health and treatment.
  • A 24-hour helpline for medical emergencies.
  • Cover for loss or damage to baggage and personal money.
  • A wide range of sports and activities covered.
  • Cover for irrecoverable pre-paid college, university, or language school fees.
  • Leisure trips outside the UK for up to 21 days on each occasion.

Key eligibility criteria and exclusions:

  • Not available to anyone aged 70 or over. 
  • No cover under cancellation or curtailment charges, emergency medical expenses or personal accident relating to any reason set out under – What is not covered sections found in the “Appendix” section of the GuardMe policy wording.
  • No cover where the FCO or World Health Organisation has advised against travel.
