We have a number of accommodation options to suit different lifestyles and budgets. Most are within easy reach of the school - a 40 minute walk at most.
- Shared apartments - We can offer clean, comfortable, independent, self-catering accommodation within walking distance to the school.
- Homestay accommodation - Lots of students like to experience British family life and English culture first hand.
- Student hostel - If you intend to stay six months or longer in Bristol, you may prefer to live in a student hostel where you have your own room and cook meals for yourself.
Shared apartments
Rodney House offers visitors self-catered accommodation set in the heart of Clifton Village within a short walk to school. An excellent location where you will find a wide range of small independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and land marks, such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Bristol Zoo Gardens.
We offer 6-room flats with comfortable bed, desk and wardrobe. There is a separate toilet and bathroom on each floor.
The combined kitchen and eating area have all the latest appliances, where you can cook, eat and socialise with other students.
A large corner sofa has a wall mounted T.V in front of it, where you can catch up on all the local and international news or just relax. Wi-fi is available in all rooms.
Homestay accommodation
Most of our students prefer to stay in homestay accommodation with a British host family. This means that you can share family meals and experience British culture at first hand.
Our homestay hosts are families, couples and single people. We have chosen them for you because they have clean, comfortable homes near the school, and they offer a friendly welcome to our students. We want you to feel like you are one of the family. This is a great way to help you practise your English naturally and to discover real English culture.
We visit all our all our host families regularly to make sure that the accommodation that they offer is of the highest standard so you will feel comfortable and at home.
When you arrive your host will show you how to get to school on the first morning. Most hosts live within 20-30 minutes of the school on foot or by using public transport.
Most homestay families provide two meals a day, included in the price of your accommodation. You will have a private bedroom with somewhere to put your clothes, and a table to work at. Every day you can eat with members of the host family at breakfast and in the evening, and you can have all meals together at week-ends. We never put two students who speak the same language in the same home, so you will have plenty of opportunity to practise your English and get to know more about the English way of life.
In a few cases, self-catering homestay accommodation is available where you live with a family but buy and cook all your food for yourself. This is a little cheaper.
Student hostel
If you are intending to study with International House Bristol for 6 months or more, you may prefer to stay in a self-catering student hostel near the school.
Here, you have your own room and use of a kitchen where you can cook all your own meals for yourself. Many long-term students prefer this because it works out much cheaper and gives them the freedom to come and go as they please.
